From 22nd July to 3rd August, our International Summer School offered a comprehensive experience of Swiss business, politics and culture.
For years, Switzerland has been ranking as the most competitive country and the global innovative leader in the world.
The BSwiss International Business Summer School 2018 at Campus Basel aimed at providing Swiss and international students an insight into how Switzerland has achieved this status with the contributions from the government and the companies.
The two-week programme offered the students a mixture of classroom lectures and field trips, focused on the three main themes: international competitiveness, innovation and migration. Thirty-one students from seven countries came together and engaged in a lively academic and cultural exchange.
For the participants this year, the highlights of the Summer School included the institutional and company visits. At the Institute for Intellectual Property in Bern and the State Secretariat for Migration in Muttenz, presentations given by experts on “Intellectual Property Rights”, Competitiveness of Swiss Economy & Swiss Growth Policy” as well as “International Migration & Overview Asylum Procedure Switzerland” facilitated students insights into the policies and the implementing procedures in these fields.
Business and culture
The Summer School offered the opportunity to dive into the cultural side of Switzerland as well. Students were taking part into the city tour of Basel and the day trip to Stanserhorn. The beautiful landscape under the summer sky brought the hilarious atmosphere for the whole group.
Students and lecturers alike look back on a successful and enriching experience that keep them in touch not only within Switzerland, but also with the cultural backgrounds of everyone involved.
The next BSwiss International Business Summer School will take place from Sunday July 21 – Friday evening August 2, 2019
