International exchange with IES MCRC Mumbai

The Corporate Swiss Tour 2017 gave students from India the opportunity to experience international business and academia in Switzerland.

Twelve students from IES Management College and Research Centre (IES MCRC) in Mumbai, India, visited Switzerland and took classes in the MBA programme of the FHNW School of Business. The academic scheduled focused on internationalisation strategies. The intensive two-week exchange, named Corporate Swiss Tour, also included company visits to the likes of ABB Switzerland and General Electric Switzerland. Thus, the group had the opportunity to see the theoretical frameworks of internationalisation put into practice.

The students, who come from different backgrounds such as marketing, finance or management, created a social media presence called FusionTribe to document their academic and cultural experience. The FusionTribe community is designed to be carried on by future IES MCRC students visiting FHNW School of Business to establish a strong connection between the schools.

International partnership

Professor Mohan B. Rao, who accompanied the students to Switzerland, is convinced that the study trip will give the students a better understanding of business structures in an increasingly interconnected world and that it will benefit the partnership between our schools and India and Switzerland in general.

Since 2010, students of the EMBA programme of the FHNW School of Business have repeatedly visited IES MCRC as part of their studies. The corporate Swiss Tour 2017 marks the first time for students from IES MCRC to come to Switzerland for a similar experience of international exchange.

We are happy to strengthen our partnership with IES MCRC and are looking forward to welcoming future students from India to Switzerland.
